My munchkin is a year & a half. We like parks, water play of anykind, music & movement, things to climb on, into and through... I would love to meet some other parents and have some more interaction time for my wee one.

Now he is 8.5 months and I woud really like to get him interacting with other babies/toddlers, with out having to pay lots of $ like with gymborie or privite swim lessons, just don't have the cash for it.
W also like parks and outside stuff, we haven't had much water play yet (except the bath, which he loves) but are ready to try. We are pretty much up for anything.
So if your still looking for other Burning Reno Moms, or if there are some others moms out there looking for the same thing, then lets get something going. -

loves to babysit for extra $ she's not that expensive either.

She has Babysat for ~M~ 2 times and just loves Mia! -

Wed, March 26, 2008 - 8:10 PMI'm a stay at home mom. So I don't really need a babysitter that offten, and when I do the grandparents are usually begging to take him. But I'll keep you guys in mind if I ever do need some one.
I know there has to be some other SAHM's (or working moms) out there with pre-school aged kids. I would love to get a weekly or bi-weekly (even once a month could be good) "play group" together. We could rotate metting at different parks. Maybe get togther at someones house, maybe the moms can help eachother watch kids and get BM projects done at the same time. Maybe trips to tahoe, or to the carson kids museum. There are lots of thing to do and it would be fun to have other moms and babies to do it with. -

And yes, Pinemom's daughter Cat is ridiculously awesome. She's a gentle spirit who seems to melt into Maya's world. I'ma SAHM and having someone that Maya can so easily connect with has been a blessing on those rare weekends days or nights we actually get to go out alone!
On the play front...
Our little crew of mom's meets at Manzanita Park on Tuesday mornings from about 8:30am until lunch and naptime (noon/12:30ish) we start at he play equipment and then migrate to the creek and bridges after we eat.
On Friday mornings its Rancho at the kids playground or the giant sand circle next door... its by the bathrooms and the gazebo. THe only drag is the goose poop especially for crawlers.
We've been meeting for a couple months now and are talking about family camping trips. 2 moms are varying stages of pregnancy with their second babes.
I teach at Gymboree part-time and they are looking for another teacher for:
Tuesday morning for 2 hours to teach Preschool Prep (3-5 yr olds)...
Thursday 11am and 12:30 for 45 minutes to teach art to 18mo-3 year olds (2 different age groups)
The pay is minimal but you get all the classes you could ever want for free for your little ones. The owner is AWESOME and the space is really good, good for me (socially and emotionall) and good for Maya's fearless lust of physical conquest in a space that is cushioned and I trust other moms to give her a hug if I'm across the room when she flings herself onto a moving child. And it's next door to the tastiest bagel shop in town. -

Thu, March 27, 2008 - 10:38 PMCool, Thanks so much for the info. I'm sure it will be a few weeks before I make it out, as we are getting ready to move to a new place next weekend. But I can't wait to met some other moms. I don't have any friends with kids, so I feel a bit isolated at times, and crave the understanding of other moms. Plus my son really needs to get some more social time in, for the most part he has only been around mom and dad. As soon as we get settled in at our new house, we will be there.
My husband and I will also be at the Yuri's Night party on April 12th. If I haven't made it out to the park yet (and if you too will be there) then I hope we can met and chat there. -

We just moved out to Stead so Rancho is closer for us, and last friday we made it out to Rancho at about 8:30am(quite the feet since that is about the time for his first nap). We were there for about an hour maybe more, but no one else was there. So whats up did I miss something? Will there be anyone there tommorrow? I'll be there, hopefully some of you guys will be too. -
