A Fund Raiser is being held for Cheryl Page-Kiraly, a local Massage Therapist who has lived in Reno since August 1991. Cheryl has been a Burner since 2000. Cheryl received a complete hip replacement surgery March 19, 2008 on her right hip and will be receiving a complete hip replacement surgery on her left hip as soon as her right hip is healed sufficiently for the operation. This will be Cheryl’s fourth surgery in four years and although she has health insurance the lack of income during recovery time has created a financial hardship.
All donations will be used to help with medical bills as well as day-to-day living expenses until Cheryl is able to return to her massage business.
Cheryl has been generous in donating massage gift certificates for various events and fund raisers over the years including: KNBP channel 5, ECONET (Earth Day), Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Angel Kiss Foundation, Nevada Opera, Blues Society, Reno Ski & Recreation Club, The River School, Steve Gifford, Rocket Bob, Controlled Burn, Nevada Fest, Spanish Springs High School, Drum Dance and Didgeridoo Festival and many more.
We are hoping the community can now give back to Cheryl in the form of donations for the Silent Auction and we are still looking for a food
donor and helpers for the event and if you are unable to do any of the above cash will gladly be accepted.
The event will be held Sunday May 4 at Skoosh Ink, 120-F Woodland Avenue, Reno from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Music will be provided by the Rick Hammond Band, beer by Great Basin Brewery, wine will also available. Silent Auction items include a
Burning Man ticket, several Burner Costumes, Tie Skirt, Drum, Mask, Paintings, Wood Art, Jewelry, gift certificates for Massage, Rolfing, Reiki, Gift Baskets, Facial, Hydrotherapy Colonic, Windy City Pizzeria donating a one year of pizza value $300, Housecleaning, Psychic Consultation, Prism Magic, El Adobe, Jin Shin Jyutsu, a Week for Two at a Condo value $1500, Reno Blues Society with a membership & RBS items, Guitar Woody with CD’s & T-Shirts .
Also available on site: Chair Massage by Patricia Patton, Face Reading by Ann Lysight, Photographs taken by Geoffrey Nelson, and a Kissing Booth by Smooches, Fire Spinning after dark. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and you do not need to be present to win the raffle.
